Black lacquered suit-of-armour with orange and white cords and a vermillion hem (kuro’urushunuri hisuso nimaidō gusoku). A large black riveted zunarikabuto-helmet with in front a large cresent shaped moon maedate and small “smoked leather” covered fukikaeshi. The fukikaeshi show a small paulownia crest of the Tosa family inside a square well (hiraizutsu ni Tosakiri mon) in relief. The helmet has four neck-guards (shikoro). A black facial mask with separate noose piece and a grey moustache resembling the face of an old man (resseibō). From the facial mask hangs a four-piece gorget (nodawa). Rather small six-piece shoulder-guards (sode). Arm-guards with Japanese mail and black vertical metal strips over brocade (shinokote). A two-piece black lacquered bucket-shaped cuirass (yokohagi nimaidō) built from horizontal metal strips (itazane). The cuirass is above decorated with a band of “smoked leather”. The front and the back of the cuirass has a large gold makie-lacquer Tosakiri crest. From the cuirass hangs a six part five-piece kusazuri-skirt. Large cuisses (haidate) with vertically laced black metal karuta-plates protect the upper legs. Vertical metal strips laced with Japanese mail protect the lower legs (shinosuneate). With a brocade waist-band. In a box for a suit-of-armour (yoroibako) decorated with the Tosa crest.
