This peated single malt was distilled on 19 September 2017 and matured for 3 years in wine barrel no. 0079. It was bottled on October 22, 2020 at 56.2%. Nagahama is the smallest whisky distillery in Japan. Moreover, amount of the whisky produced in one time by its smallest pot still in the country is equal to one cask !
Founded in 2016 on the site of the Nagahama Brewery, the distillery occupies only about 26 square meters. Nagahama is located next to Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan, which creates a perfect climate for whiskey maturation. Only 501 bottles were put on the market.
