Philip - Lorca di Corcia - ELEVEN - 2011 From 1997 to 2008, Philip-Lorca diCorcia worked together with Dennis Freedman, which together stand for one of the most ambitious projects of the last decade. Together, diCorcia and Freedman traveled all over the world, working in places like Havana, Paris, Bangkok, St. Petersburg, Los Angeles and New York. The recordings were made in locations such as a house designed by the architect John Lautner near Los Angeles, at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, in the Windows on the World restaurant at the World Trade Center or in a swingers club in Paris. Icons such as the super models Nadja Auermann, Guinevere, Kristen McMenamy, Karen Elson, Shalom Harlow and Hannelore Knuts, the actress Isabelle Huppert or the designer Marc Jacobs and passers-by were portrayed. The photo spreads became famous because of their sheer length and the enigmatic, sometimes enigmatic story behind the images. For the first time, these stories are now being published in a single volume.
