Walter Tyndale shares observations from his travels in Venice and Tuscany. Walter Tyndale was a British watercolourist known for his landscapes, architecture, and street scenes, as well as for his travel writing. The book is wonderfully illustrated with tipped in tissue-guarded frontispiece, and 25 fine tissue-guarded colour plates mounted and tipped in to heavyweight leaves with double borders. Published by Hodder and Stoughton, Ltd, London, 1913. Handsomely bound in publisher's blue navy cloth boards, with elaborate gilt design, and gilt lettering on upper board, and spine. Illustrated endpapers. Top page edges gilt. Book Dimensions: 28.5 x 22.5 x 4 cm and Number of Pages: 307 including index A magnificent publication weighing in excess of 2 kilograms. Condition The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers are in nice shape, with light wear to boards’ corners, and head and tail of spine. Internally the book is in very good condition. No owners’ name or inscription. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. Pages are clean with light foxing to the margin of first and last few pages. The text is fresh. All plates are present, and in excellent condition. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful book (Please see pictures).
