Ancient Roman Jasper Masterfully engraved Intaglio with an image of an Eros leaning on his stick set on an Altar. Curiously the ancient engraver presented Eros with rounded body (overweighted). Wing feathers exceptionally well engraved as well as the 3/4 facing portrait. In good condition as an intaglio with a minor insignificant defect, as an iron ring obviously only the upper part preserved.
Rare engraved in the finest style.
Size: 2,9 like a fragment and ca. 1 cm the intaglio!
The object will be shipped with an Austrian export license.
