A bronze ring with marble intaglio depicting a ruler's head from the ancient Persian, Greco-Bactrian culture.
1st Millennium BC.
In good condition. It has been cleaned partly, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original,ancient,hand cutting,carving and grinding. Traces of use and age on its surface. The intaglio has hairlines due to the wear.
Purchased 1983/Budapest by Dr. Zelnik from the collection of a former ambassador in Pakistan, H.E.B.I.
