Item Description Only 170 complete copies of the first edition of 1926 were privately printed primarily for family and friends. This copy is the first impression of the first edition for general circulation printed in 1935. The book includes an introduction, 10 books, 2 appendix of ‘Nominal Roll’ Places, Personal Names, and Index. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece of Lawrence, 53 Full page portraits, and 4 folding maps. Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1935. Original Sand-coloured cloth, spine lettered in gilt, upper board with centre gilt motto of double crossed swords ('The sword also means clean-ness and death'). Top page edges gilt. Book Dimensions: 26 x 20 x 5 cm and Number of Pages: 672 including 2 appendix and index Weighing in excess of 2 kilograms. Condition Firm and well bound copy. External covers are clean and in nice shape. Internally the book is in very good condition. Neat owner name on the blank front end paper. Pages are clean, with occasional light foxing on some pages, and page edges. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. The text and plates are clean and bright (Lovely Copy) (Please see pictures).
