Luristan bronzes come from the province of Lorestan, located in modern day Iran. Luristan weapons, such as this nice example, would have been used in everyday life but also buried together with the deceased.
Excavated items from this region often include weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Ornamental objects are also frequently found, such as pins and bracelets. Archaeological evidence suggests that the Luristan bronze objects often serverd ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts. Weapons, such as this nice example, would have been used in everyday life but also buried together with the deceased.
