It originates from the very rare first edition of the famous tournament book in a beautiful and complete copy. Also the first of only 10 prints from the only Simmern office in the 16th century, printed in Neudörffer's 'Dürer-Fraktur', one of the first German fracture types. - The work describes 36 tournaments in various German cities and Switzerland, naming the people involved and depicting their coats of arms. Reminiscent of the Theuerdank illustrations , come, at least in part, from Duke Johann II of Palatinate-Simmern, called Duke Hans of Hunsrück.
