This volume is an account of Stanley's travels in Central Africa, with linked extracts from his works. It starts in 1871 with a short review of his search for Dr Livingstone, followed by the 1874 expedition to trace the course of the Congo, and concludes with the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition of 1886 -1889.
