This is an attractive Lower Paleolithic Acheulian Quartzite Handaxe from Morocco measuring 13cm in length. Made by Homo erectus from 1000,000 - 500,000 years ago, this Lower Paleolithic Acheulean handaxe is in excellent condition with no modern damage. Somewhat difficult to convey from photographs, the artifact has the lovely desert patina typical of many North African Paleoliths. The custom-made stand is included with the handaxe. Length: 13cm Width: 8.6cm Depth: 3.8cm Weight: 433 Grammes This piece is part of a large collection of stone-age objects inherited by myself from a close relative, an avid antiquities enthusiast, who passed away in the late 1990's. The collection was formed primarily in the 70's and 80's from many sources on the European art market. It has formed a part of my personal collection since 1998.
