After being greatly influenced by a series of visits to Iceland with Magnusson, Morris decided to produce this English translation of Icelandic Sagas, including: The Story of Howard the Halt, The Story of the Banded Men, and The Story of Hen Thorir. Written by William Morris, a British textile designer, poet, artist, writer, architectural conservationist, printer, translator and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement. In collaboration with Eiríkr Magnússon, an Icelandic scholar at the University of Cambridge who played an important role in the movement to study the history and literature of the Norsemen in Victorian England.
