Samy Briss (b. 1930) is a Romanian-born Israeli artist associated with the École de Paris, known for his poetic, symbolic and highly decorative compositions. After studying in Bucharest, he later settled in Paris, where he became part of the vibrant post-war artistic community.
His works are characterized by simplified forms, symbolic figures, animals, musicians, birds and dreamlike landscapes, often rendered in warm tonalities and textured surfaces. Briss developed a very recognizable visual language that blends modernism with influences from ancient art, mythology and folk traditions.
