Rare complete first Dutch edition of the Christmas carol. Only one copy available online - that copy is incomplete for over €700.

First issue.
Complete with four engrave plates and two wood cut vignettes (One to the title page and the other within the text).

Cloth covered spine with gilt titles, and marbled boards. In good condition, with a touch of rubbing only. The half title is a little creased with moderate foxing, but overall is ok.

Internally clean and tidy throughout, with a little darkening to the pages. The plates are clean.
[viii], 150, [ii] pages.

The plates are by John Leech, but here are credited to Last (Delineated) and Desguerrols (lithography). Uncoloured.

A good, scarce copy of the first appearance in Dutch of the Christmas Carol.
