Dubois - Vaso - Ceramica
Vase in Grès ceramic style, with glazed figures. Representation of Greek antiquity. Height is 46 cm, diameter opening 15.5 cm. Signed at the bottom of "Dubois", as well as marking G7.
In perfect condition.
François Alexandre Dubois (1838-1920) with his son Antoine (1869-1949) and the pottery painter Emile Landry founded "Faiencerie de Saint Ghislain" (1892-1909). This factory settled then in Anderlecht until it was destroyed by fire in 1918.
In 1920 Antoine along with four Associates, including Fontinelle founds "Céramique Montoise". The factory was located along the Canal Mons-Condé and employed a 100 people.
In 1950 the factory finally closed its doors shortly after the death of Antoine Dubois.
