1997 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso - Bolgheri Superiore - 1 Magnum (1,5 L)
Domaine du Clos des Fées “La Petite Sibérie” 2011
Exceptional Magnum, very rare, only a few magnums were produced, kept in my Middle Ages cellar since its purchase from the property.
It is in this exceptional terroir perched at an altitude of 350 meters that the pure clays produce legendary wines. It is at the foot of the Pyrenees, among holm oaks in a geologically very poor area that lies the incredible crossroads between the local tramontana and the Mediterranean influence.
The manager of the Estate is none other than Hervé Biseuil, a colorful character recognized as one of the greatest winemakers in Roussillon!
“La Petite Sibérie” is a 2-hectare plot of particularly grandiose soil: clay-limestone plus schist with an iron concentration worthy of the greatest terroirs. Very old Grenache Noir vines in goblets to produce a unique juice.
The black dress is impenetrably deep. Huge aromatic concentration on black fruits, tapenade and licorice with a touch of refreshing violet. The nose constantly evolves in the glass like the mouth which lengthens sip after sip. The structure of this vintage is very balanced with extraordinary richness and lots of minerality. Worthy of the greatest wines of France!
