Operated by Loetz's widow and later by his grandson, Max Ritter von Spaun, the factory modernized and introduced innovative techniques. By 1889, they exhibited at the Paris International Exposition and later patented a technique for their iconic iridescent finishes. By the turn of the century, Loetz was celebrated as a leading producer of Art Nouveau glass worldwide.
