Peter Lowe

I am a retired research scientist. I learnt about prints through my father, who died in 1984. Starting already in the late 1930s, he made print-collecting his hobby, and created a collection of prints, focused on those dating from before 1700. In his later years, I helped him with his collection. Whilst on university vacation, through my father's contacts with the British Museum Prints & Drawings department, I worked there for several months and learned how to identify prints. As my children do not have an interest in old prints, I took the sad decision to sell some of the collection.
