Alexandre Petrus (1988) - ESPOIR DE PAIX

Title : Espoir de Paix Artist : Alexandre Petrus Technique : Hand-cut stencil, spray paint and acrylic Support : Cotton canvas on wooden stretcher Dimension : 61 x 46 x 2 cm Year of creation : 2026 Signature : Hand-signed, AP monogram on the front Authenticity : Certificate of authenticity included Condition : Excellent condition ABOUT THE ARTWORK “Espoir de Paix” captures a fragile yet powerful moment — the instant where freedom is offered, not taken. A child, emerging from a confined space, gently releases a bird into the open. This simple gesture carries a universal meaning: hope, liberation, and the belief in something better beyond limitations. The monochromatic blue palette creates a calm and contemplative atmosphere. Blue here symbolizes peace, introspection and silence — a necessary pause in a chaotic world. It invites the viewer to slow down and connect emotionally with the scene. The contrast between the enclosed space behind the child and the open space in front of him reinforces the narrative: a transition from constraint to freedom. The bird, mid-flight, becomes the embodiment of that transition. As in all my works, this piece is built on the tension between precision and spontaneity. The stencil work is sharp, controlled and detailed, while the background is created instinctively, with layered textures that give depth and life to the composition. Created using my signature double-layer stencil technique, the artwork is digitally designed, then entirely hand-cut before being painted with spray paint and acrylic. Each background is unique, ensuring that every piece is one of a kind. ABOUT THE ARTIST Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist whose work blends street art aesthetics, digital design and traditional craftsmanship. His stencils are digitally designed and then hand-cut with precision. His artistic approach is based on the dialogue between control and spontaneity. The stencil provides structure and detail, while the background is created instinctively, allowing textures and emotion to emerge — a philosophy he defines as “originality in repetition.” He has created murals across France and performs live painting for weddings and corporate events, bringing his urban artistic universe into diverse environments. All artworks are original pieces — no prints, no editions. SHIPPING The artwork will be carefully packaged with professional materials to ensure optimal protection. Tracked and insured shipping. ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Espoir de Paix” captures a fragile yet powerful moment — the instant where freedom is offered, not taken.
