Limited Edition 2/5 from the Tribute Series: “Icons in Ukiyo-e – Legends Reimagined” Dimensions: 30x42 cm (size of artwork) + Passepartout 40x50 cm This is a fine art high-quality giclée numbered and hand signed by Emma Wildfang, the creator of the original drawing (pencil, watercolour, acrylic) . It's the edition 2/5 printed on 60g handmade Kahari paper from Nepal - Passepartout included! - without frame! Excellent condition. With certificate of authenticity. Art Series: “Icons in Ukiyo-e – Legends Reimagined” This distinctive portrait series brings together legendary comic book heroes, celebrated actors, and iconic cinematic and animated figures within the refined aesthetic framework of traditional Japanese art. Inspired by the visual language of Ukiyo-e and the elegance of classical ink and woodblock techniques, each work reinterprets globally recognized characters through a culturally blended artistic lens. Superheroes, screen legends, and timeless fictional beings — from epic comic protagonists to poetic figures like Totoro — are reimagined within a composition shaped by Japanese design principles. The artworks incorporate characteristic elements of Japanese visual culture: defined framing, vertical calligraphic typography, intentional negative space, and subtle natural motifs such as the rising sun, drifting clouds, or delicate floral accents. A muted, earthy color palette combined with restrained linework creates a contemplative, almost meditative atmosphere. The series unfolds as a cultural dialogue — a tribute to storytelling, identity, and modern mythology. Past and present, East and West, reality and fiction converge into a unified visual narrative, where iconic figures are both recontextualized and rendered timeless. Emma Wildfang is a young Pop-Art street artist. Her artworks are scattered in collections all over the world. She manages to create a very special vintage style. After attending the master class, the artist has been self-taught since 2002. Her constant search for new techniques and means of expression made it almost imperative for her to now also deal with spatial structures as a sculptor. Due to the restlessness and instability of her creative process she lives up to the name Wildfang. However, in all of her works, Wildfang does not seek the perfect, symmetrically idealised work, but instead finds beauty in the fragmented, in the detail, and in the enigmatic. Her way of working is to find perfection in the imperfect. The artwork comes directly from the studio of the artist. Shipping: Carefully packaged and insured.
