Handsome copy with 12 attractive colour plates by Rackham The last book to be illustrated by Rackham. Grahame himself originally approached Rackham to illustrate his book but at that time it could not be managed. It was thirty years later that Rackham finally consented. The pictures were finished just as World War II broke out and were originally published in America by the Limited Editions Club. Description This lovely illustrated edition of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ features 12 lovely colour plates including frontispiece by Arthur Rackham, and 15 line drawings. An introduction by A. A. Milne. Published by Methuen & Co. Ltd, London, 1968. Publisher’s original emerald green cloth covers, gilt title and author block lettering to the spine. Book Dimensions: 24 x 16 cm and Number of Pages: 178. Condition External covers are in nice shape, with few marks and light wear to corners. Internally; in very good condition. Old dedication ‘from Dad’ on inside front cover page. Firm and strong binding, bright and clean pages, with light foxing to the margin of few pages and page edges. All coloured plates are present and in very nice condition (Please see pictures).
