Beautiful handmade traditional Hmong/Miao pleated skirt from Southeast Asia, likely Thailand or Laos, dating from the mid 20th century. The skirt is made of Indigo-dyed handwoven cotton and richly decorated with hand embroidery, colourful appliqué panels and geometric tribal motifs. The waistband measures approx 85 cm and features two fabric cords for fastening and adjusting the fit. Length of the skirt is 55 cm. -The skirt shows authentic signs of age and traditional use, including loose threads, wear, minor odor and small imperfections consistent with age, see photos.
