ランプ - Resin, Metal - ブルータリスト風ペンダントランプ

Large Brutalist Pendant Lamp in Molten Coloured Resin / Plastic, 1960s–1970s A wonderfully expressive Brutalist pendant lamp, a composition of coloured translucent material in organic shapes mounted on a metal frame. When unlit, the lamp has an almost geological presence: blackened, rugged, crust-like and sculptural. When lit, it changes completely. The coloured fragments begin to glow in pink, orange, red, green, amber and turquoise, giving the impression of a small stained-glass furnace suspended in the room. The piece has a strong handmade or studio-made quality. The surface is deliberately rough and organic, with raised, melted, folded and crusted forms rather than a clean industrial finish. It recalls the experimental post-war lighting by Van Tetterode, and the RAAK “Chartres” lamps by Willem van Oijen, where coloured glass or resin-like fragments create a jewel-like illuminated effect. The lamp is not attributed to either maker, but it belongs very much to that same adventurous 1960s–1970s world: lighting object in an exciting composition of colour. The lamp hangs from a long dark metal link chain of approximately 2 metres, making it especially suitable for a high ceiling, stairwell, gallery space or dramatic corner where it can be suspended lower, around eye level. It is currently hard-wired, but it's possible to fit a plug to the end of the cable instead if one wants to use it from a wall socket instead of a ceiling point. A very atmospheric piece for eclectic interiors, vintage settings, galleries or collector’s homes. During the day it is sculptural and dramatic; in the evening it glows like a volcanic eruption of multicoloured lava. Condition: Good vintage condition with small signs of age and use. The lamp has an intentionally rough, irregular and molten surface, which is part of its character and construction. It is sturdy, heavy and ready to use. Wiring in good order uses one E27 bulb (best to fit it with a larger, longer LED bulb)
