日本の備前焼いけばな花入れ – 署名入り木箱 – 素朴なスタジオ陶器 - Ceramic - Japan - 20th century
This elegant Japanese Bizen ware hanaire (flower vase) embodies the quiet strength and earthy refinement of traditional Japanese pottery.
The vase features a beautifully balanced gourd-like silhouette with a long, slender neck rising from a rounded body. Its surface displays the warm reddish-brown tones and natural kiln effects characteristic of Bizen ceramics, one of Japan’s oldest and most respected pottery traditions. Fine horizontal throwing lines remain visible beneath the surface, giving the piece a subtle tactile rhythm and emphasizing its hand-thrown origin.
The firing has created rich variations of dark umber, iron-black, and deep chestnut hues across the body and neck. The surface retains a softly lustrous texture with natural irregularities and kiln-born expressions that reflect the wabi-sabi aesthetic — the Japanese appreciation of simplicity, imperfection, and the passage of time.
The vase is accompanied by its original signed wooden tomobako. The inscription reads:
「古備前 献上花入」
“Kobizen Kenjō Hanaire”
(Old Bizen style presentation flower vase)
Its refined yet understated presence makes it suitable both as an ikebana vessel and as a sculptural display object.

Good antique/vintage condition with no visible cracks or restorations. Natural firing marks, surface irregularities, and kiln effects are part of the original production process and should be appreciated as characteristics of traditional Bizen ware.
