Splendida e rara acquasantiera da camera (o da letto) con crocifisso, superbo esempio di arte sacra domestica in pieno Stile Liberty / Art Nouveau, risalente al periodo 1895-1910 circa.

L'oggetto si distingue per la straordinaria fluidità delle linee e l'elegante simbolismo organico tipico del periodo. Sulla sommità della croce spiccano tre magnifiche capsule di papavero stilizzate con steli sinuosi a "colpo di frusta" – elemento iconico dell'Art Nouveau che simboleggia il sonno e l'eterno riposo. La figura del Cristo presenta una plasticità morbida, elegantemente integrata con i motivi floreali e vegetali retrostanti.

La struttura è realizzata in bronzo finemente fuso e cesellato, caratterizzata da una splendida alternanza tra la doratura originale delle parti in rilievo e la profonda patina scura del fondo. Il tutto è montato su una base sagomata rivestita in tessuto coevo, completa del suo anello di sospensione originale sul retro.

La vaschetta dell'acqua benedetta conserva all'interno le affascinanti incrostazioni calcaree e l'ossidazione verde-azzuurra lasciate dall'evaporazione dell'acqua nei decenni, a testimonianza della sua autenticità e della sua storia. Un pezzo da collezione di grande impatto visivo, conservato magnificamente e mai restaurato per preservarne l'integrità e il fascino d'epoca.

This piece stands out for the extraordinary fluidity of its lines and the elegant organic symbolism typical of the period. At the top of the cross, three magnificent stylized poppy pods with sinuous "whiplash" stems catch the eye – an iconic Art Nouveau element symbolizing sleep and eternal rest. The figure of Christ shows a soft plasticity, elegantly integrated with the floral and plant motifs behind it.

The structure is made of finely cast and chased bronze, characterized by a beautiful contrast between the original gilding of the relief parts and the deep dark patina of the background. The ensemble is mounted on a shaped base covered in coeval fabric, complete with its original hanging ring on the back.

The holy water basin still retains the fascinating limescale encrustations and green-blue oxidation inside left by the evaporation of water over the decades, bearing witness to its authenticity and history. A collector's item of great visual impact, beautifully preserved and never restored to preserve its integrity and vintage charm.
