Vintage Florentine Style Triptych Altar - Saint Francis of Assisi & Musical Angels A beautiful vintage Italian religious triptych in the traditional Florentine style, hand-crafted on a gessoed wooden support. The central panel features a faithful serigraphic reproduction of the world-famous 13th-century fresco of Saint Francis of Assisi by the pre-Renaissance master Cimabue (originally located in the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi). The two hinged side panels depict elegant musical angels standing against a soft golden background. The entire piece is richly decorated with hand-applied gold leaf, vibrant green inserts, and intricate punch-work (stamped rosettes and scroll borders) characteristic of early-to-mid 20th-century Florentine artisan workshops. The reverse side of the doors is equally stunning, featuring a symmetrical pattern of twelve stamped golden rosettes on a green lacquer background, serving as a decorative shield when the altar is closed. Dimensions : 53.5 cm × 34.5 m × 2.5 cm In good vintage condition with signs of age and wear that enhance its authentic antique charm. Minor superficial cracking to the gesso layer and slight rubbing to the gold leaf/patina, entirely consistent with age. Metal hinges are fully functional, allowing the triptych to open and close smoothly and stand securely on flat surfaces. Please study the photos carefully as they form an integral part of the description. The product will be professionally packed and sent safely to your address by local post. The pictures of the product are made with the highest possible resolution, precisely to capture possible small defects (small scratches, stains, defect), the pictures are part of the product description.
