IWC - Schauffhausen Automatic - Cal.852 - Men - 1958

The very fine and meticulously unrestored automatic IWC featured as the Watch of the Week is is powered by the Albert Pellaton designed Caliber 852 movement. This mechanism's automatic winding system is a technical masterpiece, earning it high praise - Gisbert Brunner and Christian Pfeiffer-Belli in their work, Wristwatches Armbanduhren Montres-bracelets, proclaimed it "one of the best automatic movements ever built in Switzerland." IWC built the movement of this very fine wristwatch in 1955 at the same they were building their famous Ingenieur line. These dress watches were more elegant than the pragmatic Ingenieur but shared the high-performance timekeeping qualities in normal wearing conditions. And compared to an Ingenieur, because they do not have a second inner back, the cases are thinner and lighter on the wrist. The watch is in gorgeous true expertly unrestored condition and presents as mint. The dial has a perfect condition if you think it is 67 years old. The full size case presents as mint. As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly fully overhauled and is running incredibly true. The parts of the watch are fully original down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. For the finishing touch we have equipped the watch with leather strap. Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function.
