Ando Cloisonne was founded in 1880 and is a cloisonne ware company.
An impressive example of Ando Cloisonné, one of Japan’s most celebrated makers of fine enamelware, founded in 1880. This richly decorated flower vase features an elaborate design of flowers and birds rendered in vibrant polychrome enamels against a deep brown ground, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and decorative elegance for which Ando is renowned. The intricate floral scrollwork, jewel-like colors, and finely executed cloisonné wirework create a luxurious and highly decorative appearance. The vase is accompanied by a double storage box, and the reverse of the outer box bears an inscription dated February 1938 (Shōwa 13), providing valuable historical context. A refined work reflecting the high standards of Japanese cloisonné production during the early Shōwa period, suitable both as a collector’s piece and as an elegant display object.
