北魏時代（西暦7世紀〜10世紀）の大型中国陶俑陪臣像
高さ57 cm の、男性の陪臣または官吏を描いた迫力ある大型の陶俑です。片腕を上げ、もう一方を伸ばしたダイナミックなポーズで、高い官帽をかぶり、重ね着された袍には細かな折り目が表現されています。表情豊かな顔立ちが特徴で、表面は淡い土色の典型的な風合いを持ち、埋葬時の沈着物の痕と元の顔料の痕跡が残っています。
この種の像は北魏時代およびその後の dynasties において、墓の守護者や侍として死後の世界での奉仕を果たす陪葬品として作られました。この規模と品質の大作は、その彫刻的な存在感と歴史的価値の点で非常に高く評価されています。
