Hand-carved wooden dervish kashkul (begging bowl), traditionally associated with Sufi devotional practices in the Middle East and Anatolia.
The bowl is carved from a single piece of wood and decorated with incised inscriptions in Arabic script. Such inscriptions are commonly found on objects used by wandering dervishes for collecting alms.
The surface shows natural patina, cracks and wear consistent with age and long use.
