This is Batch 23/187 of the Springbank Hazelburn 15 YO Sherry Wood. Matured in, not very surprising, ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It was distilled June 2008, and bottled 2023-09-18. Limited to 9000 bottles. The Springbank Hazelburn 15 YO Sherry Wood (2023) Nose: Rich and full, with orchard fruits, caramel pudding, nuts, and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Leather and dried fruits develop over time, adding depth. Taste: Full-bodied with an unexpected dryness initially, bringing a slight bitterness. The sweetness follows with honey, worn leather, and a hint of wood smoke. Finish: Medium-long, carrying forward the leather and wood notes. Toasted oak and subtle green undertones emerge toward the end.
