オークションには、20世紀後半にさかのぼる伝統的なモロッコ風の魅力的な短剣「クームミャ」が出品されます。視覚的なインパクトに富んだこの作品は、アトラス山脈のベルベル部族の伝統技術を見事に体現しています。象徴的な「孔雀の尾」の鞘柄を持つ華やかなハンドルと、上方へと鋭く曲がるクラシックな尾部を持つ装飾的な鞘を備えています。表面は手彫りの幾何学模様と浮き彫りの鋲で全面装飾されており、裏側は金属の滑らかな仕上げと、暖かい時代の美しいパティーナを見せています。カラフルな羊毛の腰紐に結ぶための二つの横向き吊環が付属しており、元々はそれらを用いて固定していました。

Up for auction is a fascinating and highly decorative traditional Moroccan "Koummya" dagger, dating back to the second half of the 20th century.
This piece beautifully showcases the traditional craftsmanship of the Atlas Berber tribes. It features the iconic "peacock-tail" hilt and a richly detailed scabbard ending in the classic sharp upturned curve. The front is entirely hand-chased with intricate geometric patterns and raised pyramidal studs, while the back displays a smooth metal finish with a gorgeous, warm aged patina. It comes complete with its two original lateral suspension rings, which were traditionally used to attach it to a coloured woollen shoulder cord.

Technical Details & Condition:
Dimensions: Total length of the piece (sheathed): 40 cm.
Material: Crafted from a traditional metal alloy (such as alpaca / white brass); it does not bear silver hallmarks. The back of the scabbard reveals the beautiful warm undertones of the base metal that have emerged over time.
Blade: Decorative iron blade, unsharpened, firmly set into the hilt. It shows an authentic vintage patina with minor surface oxidation that highlights its age.
