Islamic Bronze リング - 西暦11世紀から14世紀 (No reserve price)
Islamic Bronze Signet Ring – Islamic Culture – 11th to 14th Century AD
A bronze signet ring featuring a distinctive quatrefoil-shaped bezel engraved with an abstract geometric composition inspired by Kufic calligraphic forms. Such stylized epigraphic motifs were widely employed throughout the medieval Islamic world, where script often evolved into decorative patterns that combined artistic expression with symbolic meaning. Rings of this type were worn as personal adornments and could also function as seals associated with ownership, identity, or status.
The ring is cast in bronze and displays a pronounced quatrefoil bezel framed by a raised border. The engraved design remains clearly visible despite age-related wear, while the dark patina and surface deposits attest to its considerable antiquity. The unusual bezel shape, combined with the geometric Kufic-inspired ornamentation, makes this a particularly attractive example of medieval Islamic metalwork.
