Original Karl Frey instruments occasionally appear in museum collections or specialty historical instrument. Surviving original Karl Frey mouthpieces are rare and typically have a distinct historical shape tailored to the largely conical tubing of that era. Karl Frey mouthpieces are highly rare, custom-tapered 19th-century brass shank rather than a modern woodwind piece.
