A fine late 18th-early 19th century Nast porcelain partial tea service consisting of teapot, four tea cups and seven saucers, the teapot measuring circa 16cm in height, the cups 6,5cm and the saucers 12,6cm in diameter, all pieces together weighing 2135g. Each piece finely painted in polychrome enamels to depict a different exotic bird on a leafy branch, most pieces marked Nast à Paris, the manufactory founded in 1785 by Jean Népomucène Ernest Nast (1754-1817), who worked at the Royal porcelain workshop at Versailles before starting his own factory that quickly rose to international prominence, rivalling the Sèvres production by the beginning of the 19th century and supplying many royal courts, including that of the French Directory (1795-) and subsequently Napoléon Bonaparte.
