Dave Brubeck - SIGNED THREE TIMES BY DAVE BRUBECK (1920-2012) + TOUR PROGRAMME - レコード盤 - 1968

Cover signed two times by Dave Brubeck (1920-2012), one of the all time greatest jazz musicians. The cover of the record includes atached booklet. Very rare German concert programme from 1997 is also included in this listing. First signature is on front cover "Dave Brubeck". Second signature is inside gatefold cover "Dave Brubeck". Third signature with dedication is on the back cover "For (?), Dave + (?)" Dave Brubeck was a visionary American jazz pianist and composer who became a central figure of the Cool Jazz movement by blending his classical training with modern improvisation. He is considered one of the most important jazz musicians of all time because he dared to challenge the genre’s rhythmic foundations, introducing complex polyrhythms and odd time signatures that were inspired by global folk music. Beyond his technical innovations, Brubeck was a pioneer of social progress, famously refusing to perform at segregated venues and using his massive platform to advocate for civil rights during a volatile era in American history. His signature composition, "Take Five," fundamentally altered the course of music by proving that a song written in the unusual 5/4 meter could be a massive commercial success rather than just an academic exercise. As the best-selling jazz single in history, it shattered the expectation that popular music had to stick to standard rhythms, effectively teaching mainstream audiences how to appreciate complex, "difficult" meters through a catchy and accessible melody. This breakthrough opened the door for future generations of jazz, rock, and pop musicians to experiment with rhythmic structures that had previously been considered too avant-garde for the charts. LPs condition: both LPs look hardly played, but they play with some surface noise/crackling (that's how it is always on this pressing edition). Cover condition: as on photos, shows some signs of age and usage but overall well preserved. From a collection of a German jazz record collector. Shipping is registered and with tracking number.
