Byzantine Bronze リング - 西暦6世紀から10世紀 (No reserve price)

Byzantine Signet Ring – Byzantine Empire – 6th to 10th Century AD A bronze signet ring set with a dark glass or vitreous inlay mounted within a raised oval bezel. Rings of this type were worn throughout the Byzantine world as personal adornments and symbols of status, often incorporating colored glass, semi-precious stones, or engraved inserts. The contrast between the bronze body and the dark inset would originally have created a striking visual effect when worn. The ring displays a broad, tapering hoop supporting a prominent bezel, a form characteristic of Byzantine personal jewelry. Significant age-related wear, mineral deposits, and surface encrustations are present throughout, while traces of green oxidation remain visible around the setting. The surviving glass insert contributes considerable visual appeal and reflects the continued use of decorative stone and glass settings in Byzantine jewelry traditions. Material: Bronze and glass inlay Dimensions: 1.8 × 1.6 cm Weight: 3.29 g Provenance: German private collection. Formed in Germany during the 90’s. All items come with CoA.
