On offer are three candlesticks created by Swedish glass designer Lars Hellsten for Orrefors to celebrate Sweden’s athletic team participating in the 1984 Winter Olympic Games, held in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. Called OLYMPIADE, the candleholders are made of heavy mottled/textured glass, in the shape of the Olympic Torch and are decorated with the five Olympic Rings in relief on one of the three sides of the pillar. Two of the pieces have the Orrefors sticker present and the third does not. The textured glass beautifully captures and refracts light, both when the torches are lit or unlit. CONDITION: The candleholders are in excellent condition with only very minor signs of usage. DIMENSIONS: The pieces measure approximately 12 cm high and have a top diameter of around 11 cm.
