作品について:
海の泡から生まれたヴィーナスは、青い海と結びつけられることが多いですが、今回は違うものを好みます。彼女は緑も大好きです。『いつも同じで退屈だわ』と、緑色の中で穏やかに休むヴィーナスの心の声。

Mariskaはシュリナム共和国（Suriname）出身です。シュリナム系、インドネシア系、アフリカ系、オランダ系の血を持ち、オランダで育ちました。美しいフェルメールの街ディ Delftで育ち、レンブラントの国オランダで暮らすうちに、香水ブランドの仕事でヴェネツィアを知り、ヴェネツィアのバロック美術・建築・歴史に深く触発されました。これらの人生の影響が彼女の制作意欲を刺激しました。
マリスカはこれらのインスピレーションを自身の作品に取り入れ始め、彼女の人生と存在から影響を受けながら作品を創作しています。2011年以降、数多くの賞を受賞し、多くの出版物があります。現在も国際的なアートフォトグラファーとして活動を続けています。

バロック様式、ファンタジー、文化的アイコンを起点とした作風は、時代を超えた普遍性と深く個人的な感情を併せ持ちます。
彼女は女性性を、静かな調和から強く存在感のあるものまで、層状のスペクトラムとして捉えています。

マリスカはセットを丹念に構築する時間を多く割き、その過程には他の才能も生かされます。彼女は木炭でスケッチを描き、金や織物を扱い、卓越した写真加工の技術を持ちます。彼女の全ての才能は、彼女が創り出すすべての作品に一つに結びつきます。
