Up for auction is an exceptional rarity for high-end Steiff collectors: An original vintage miniature chimpanzee "Jocko" from the 1950s/1960s, featuring the rarest, smallest size of approx. 9–10 cm.
The Ultimate Collector's Highlight:
The original Steiff metal button is fully intact and located directly inside the felt sole of the foot! Due to the tiny scale of this miniature model, the ears were made of flat felt, prompting the Steiff factory to place the ID button in the foot instead. This is a highly sought-after and rare trait among experts worldwide.
Size: approx. 9–10 cm (see picture with folding ruler)
Material: Premium dark brown mohair plush. Face, ears, hands, and feet are beautifully crafted from light brown felt.
Eyes: Original black bead eyes.
Condition: Excellent, clean vintage condition. The mohair is dense and full with no balding. The felt parts are undamaged, and all seams are perfectly tight. The button in the foot is firmly attached and excellently preserved.
