Three fragmented pages of Latin bible circa 16th century. The lesser of which denotes one side to "of Matthias The Apostle". According to the Acts of the Apostles, he was chosen by God through the remaining apostles to replace Judas Iscariot following the latter's betrayal of Jesus and his subsequent death. All pages feature woodcut lettering and marginalia, a total of eight and 1/2 woodcut initials.
