ラック - Oak, Coromandel - ヘーグ学派のブックスタンド

Rare Dutch Art Deco Bookstand in Oak and Coromandel Veneer, circa 1930 A rare and highly decorative Dutch Art Deco bookstand, estimated to date from around 1930. The construction is built around strong angled planes, with a compartment for books and a raised pedestal base. The design has a beautiful sense of movement, almost as if the whole object is leaning forward to present its contents. Executed in warm oak veneer with striking coromandel veneer details, especially around the edges and on the triangular base. The contrast between the calm golden oak and the darker, more dramatic coromandel gives the piece its unmistakable Dutch interwar character. The design language is reminiscent of pieces by P.E.L. Izeren and De Genneper Molen: geometric, modern, slightly experimental, but still practical and domestic. It would be a wonderful object to store vintage books, magazines or, very fittingly, a small collection of Dutch Art Deco and design books. A charming and unusual piece, somewhere between furniture and small architectural sculpture. Condition Good vintage condition with traces of age and use. Some wear, small marks and patina consistent with age, but overall a very presentable and a very sturdy and stable piece. Dimensions Height: 45 cm / 17.72 in Width: 45 cm / 17.72 in Depth: 30 cm / 11.81 in Material Oak veneer, coromandel veneer Style Dutch Art Deco / The Hague School / Dutch modernist design Design reference Reminiscent of the design language of P.E.L. Izeren and De Genneper Molen.
