Tamanghasset, Algeria
Find: 2025
Classification: Pallasite
History: The material was found in 2025 during a meteorite search in a desert area south of Tamanrasset, Algeria, and was subsequently purchased by Mohamed Ali loud.
Physical characteristics: Many dark brownish fragments some with minor fusion crust.
Petrography: The meteorite is predominantly composed of up to 1 cm sized rounded to subrounded olivine grains in a strongly altered matrix composed of iron oxides and hydroxides. Only few chromite, troilite, and kamacite grains were detected.
Geochemistry: olivine: Fa11.4±0.1 (Fa11.5-11.7, FeO/MnO=38±2, n=10)
Shock stage: low
Weathering grade: high
