美しいジオデンドのスコレサイト、インディアナ州産。
スコレサイトは、カルシウムと水和アルミニウムを含むシリケート鉱物（テクトシリケート）で、ゼオライト族に属します。
スコレサイトは典型的な繊維状ゼオライトで、単斜晶系の結晶構造をもち、二つの軸のうち1つの二軸と対称平面を特徴とします。スコレサイトは比重が2.3 g/cm³、モース硬度は5.5です。解裂性が良く、断口はコンコイド状です。細長い縞状の柱状結晶が、白色または無色で、扇状の集合体や繊維状・放射状の塊として現れます。
スコレサイトは棒状の結晶がナトロライトよりも太いですが、肉眼で見分けるのは必ずしも容易ではなく、非常によく似ています。
