二つの留具と兜を備えた侍人形、付属品付き - 胡粉ペースト、錦織絹、髪、金メッキ金属 - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)
An ensembled set of an antique samurai doll 武者人形 (musha ningyô) and two retainers, all dressed in full armour. Accompanied by three kabuto helmets as accessories, and additional attributes.
The main figure is wearing an elaborate brocade kamishimo 裃 (samurai costume) combined with elements of a golden yoroi (armour). A black ‘courtier hat’ crowns the carefully arranged hair. The bright white skin tone is created using repeated layers of gofun 胡粉, a refined white pigment made from powdered oyster shell. This figure needs a small supporting block under its frame.
Accompanying the main figure are two retainers. Smaller in size, these figures also wear a rich silk brocade garment with armour elements. These two figures carry a sword.
Dimensions:
Main figure: Height 35 cm, Width 33 cm, Depth 36 cm
Retainers: Height 30 cm and 22 cm respectively
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912–1926)
The dolls are in fair original condition, with traces of wear consistent with age, like wear of fabric. Please refer to the photographs for a clear impression of the condition.
When shipped, a certificate of authenticity will be included.
