This bronze cross is from a time that Napoleon's Invasion of Russia: In June 1812, French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte marched his massive Grande Armée into Russia. The French reached Moscow in September, only to find much of the city burned to the ground. Facing a brutal Russian winter and fierce resistance, Napoleon was forced to begin his catastrophic retreat in October Great historical cross.
