幾何学的で象徴的な文様が幾重にも刻まれた大きな楕円形のベゼルを備えた、印象的なイスラムの青銅製シグネットリングです。頑丈なリングは濃い魅力的なパティーナを帯び、部分的に明るい酸化がみられます。頑丈なサイズと彫刻の品質は、初期中世イスラム時代の高度な金属加工技術を物語っています。
この種のシグネットリングは、公式文書や手紙の封印、個人の地位を示す象徴、護符として、イスラム世界全域で広く用いられてきました。
