葉状文様をあしらった中世の青銅印章指輪、紀元13世紀〜15世紀頃
青銅の印章指輪。楕円形のベゼルに、葉またはシダの文様が精密に刻まれています。肩と輪部には、線刻の直線模様と陰刻の陰影装飾が施されています。出土品特有の暗く魅力的なパティーナを帯びています。
この種の指輪は文書や書簡の個人用印章として用いられており、葉のモチーフは成長・自然を象徴するほか、紋章的／家系的な意味を持つこともあります。中世後期を通じて、中央ヨーロッパ全域で人気のあった私的所蔵品です。
ベゼルの寸法：1.9 × 1.8 cm
来歴：1990年代に形成されたドイツの私蔵コレクションから、ドイツで入手。
