1986年の Honda VF 500 F は、日本のオートバイメーカー Honda Motor Company が生産した、排気量中型のスポーツ・バイクです。往年の技術的に先進的なV4エンジンを特徴とする“VF”ファミリーに属します。
車両には水冷の4ストロークV4 498 cm³エンジン、16バルブ（シリンダー当たり4バルブ）、キャブレター仕様が搭載されています。エンジンは6速マニュアルギアとチェーン最終減速機と組み合わされており、出力は穏やかで段階的、低〜中速域よりも高回転域の力強さが特徴の、当時のホンダV4エンジンらしい特性です。
足回りは、スポーツ走行時の剛性と安定性を実現するダブルクローズドフレームの鋼鉄製を採用。前フォークはテレスコピック式、後部はダブルショックを装備したスイングアーム。ブレーキは前輪ダブルディスク、後輪1枚ディスクの組み合わせで、走行性能に見合った構成です。
