This antique Chinese vase, a Longquan celadon jar (guan) from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), features the classic olive-green glaze and robust potting characteristic of the Longquan kilns. A finely potted celadon-glazed stoneware jar of ovoid form, featuring broad rounded shoulders that taper down to a narrow base. The exterior is decorated with carved scrolling floral motifs, likely featuring peony or lotus designs, which were popular during the early to mid-Ming period. Covered in a thick, translucent celadon glaze of a deep olive-green hue, characteristic of Longquan ware, with fine, age related crackling throughout. A classic "guan" or jar shape with a short, narrow neck and a slightly flared, thick rim. The body is incised with free-spirited scrolling tendrils and large flower heads, set between horizontal border lines. The vase has vertical crack extending from the base. Weight is 2394 gr. Height 20 cm. Width 17cm. Diameter of the base is 9cm, diameter ot the rim is 10cm.
